Vision

To establish standards and practice of clinical pharmacy services, develop skills in students and make available to patients cost-effective and quality medicines and medicinal products

Mission

To deliver pharmaceutical care services at different levels of medication management

To ensure effective implementation of Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoeconomic aspect in drug usage process for the judicious use of pharmaceutical products

Established in 2010, this department is actively involved in reporting adverse drug reactions and participating in community-based activities in association with the Department of Pharmacology and the Department of Community Medicine of Shri B M. Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Vijayapura.

Our faculty have the expertise to take up projects related to pharmacological application in different disease conditions such as asthma, hypertension, diabetes, etc. with the help of Micromedex software. They have always demonstrated keen enthusiasm to report on adverse drug reaction and improve the quality of life of patients through patient education and the rational use of medicaments

Educational Goals

Application of knowledge and fine-tuning of skills during clinical training.

Training on independence in the deliverance of pharmaceutical care, decision making and decent conduct

Application of pharmacy ethics with strong adherence to the code of conduct in all aspects of practice

To educate the students to get used to teamwork in the field of healthcare to make them aware of their capabilities and limitations and to train them to consult with seniors and experienced colleagues

To develop in students the eagerness to follow up newly emerging issues in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and to develop skills in reading and searching information in books, reference books, periodicals and electronic databases

To develop in students the skills to communicate with their colleagues, the pharmaco and medico team, patients and their relatives.
